Why it matters

Counselling that doesn’t need a glossary

You shouldn’t have to spend your sessions educating your counsellor about your identity, your relationships or your community. Our LGBTQIA+ counsellors have lived it, so you can get straight to what you actually came for.

Sometimes what you bring relates to identity: coming out, gender, transition, faith and culture, family acceptance, or living between worlds. Often it doesn’t. Queer people get anxious, burnt out, grieve and struggle in relationships like everyone else. Either way, you deserve support that affirms who you are, rather than treating it as the problem.

Our approach is affirming, trauma-informed and grounded in evidence-based therapies, including CBT, ACT, relational approaches, sex therapy and EMDR. We understand the real effects of discrimination, family rejection, homophobia and transphobia on mental health. Your identity is not a disorder.

Our promise to you

  • We use your name and your pronouns, and we ask rather than assume.
  • You won’t need to explain queer life, culture or slang.
  • Your sexuality and gender are never the “problem” to fix.
  • Relationships of every shape are welcome.
  • Our Preston clinic has gender-neutral facilities.
  • What you share stays confidential.

问题

常见问题

您的顾问 realmente 是 LGBTQIA+ 群体吗?

Yes. Maxi and Ashley are queer counsellors with lived experience, and together they run Two Gay Counsellors at Invictus Health. If you want to work with a queer counsellor, tell us when you book and we’ll match you.

这是扭转治疗或种类相关的疗法吗?

不。扭转行为是有害的,在维多利亚州已被禁止。我们的咨询是支持性的:您的性取向和性别认同不是需要解决的问题,我们绝不会将其视为问题。.

I’m questioning and not sure of my identity. Is that enough reason to come?

Absolutely. You don’t need a label, a certainty or a crisis. Counselling is a good place to explore questions at your own pace, with no agenda about where you should land.

Can my partner or partners come too?

Yes. We offer relationship counselling and sex therapy, and we welcome LGBTQIA+ relationships and non-traditional relationship structures.

这保密吗?我的家人都不知道。.

Yes. What you share stays between you and your counsellor, with rare exceptions only when someone’s safety is at risk. We will never disclose your identity to family members.

Do you offer EMDR for trauma?

Yes. Maxi offers EMDR (eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing), a structured therapy for trauma. Ask about it when you book.

多少钱?

Individual counselling is $80 to $120 per session. No GP referral is needed, and telehealth is available Australia-wide if you’d prefer not to attend in person.
